UHU provides street outreach and distributes thousands of condom kits each week in bars, nightclubs and anonymous sex areas. Each kit contains two condoms, lubricant, and information on safer sex guidelines.
UHU provides the “Down Low” HIV telephone help line to answer questions about HIV transmission and risk reduction, counseling and testing sites, and general referrals. The toll-free “Down Low” help line number is 888.547.3235.
UHU conducts HIV prevention activities in barbershops that include risk reduction workshops, condom distribution and the training of barbers to be peer-educators
UHU conducts HIV prevention activities via the Internet. HIV peer educators visit chat rooms to provide HIV education and risk reduction information.

The Richmond Clean City Comission's Adopt-A-Spot Program is designed to help clean up Richmond. Individuals, organizations, and/or businesses "adopt" a street, intersection, lot or park, and agree to keep the area of their choice clear of litter for at least 2 years. After having completed four cleanups, the group is recognized with signage at the location, a special certificate of appreciation and a mention on the City's web site with other star volunteers.
